Brent has successfully led teams to implement cost-effective strategies, assess short-term liquidity, enhance cash flow, and negotiate with key stakeholders. Brent’s problem-solving approach and collaborative leadership consistently build stakeholder relationships and foster trust and credibility.

• Serving as interim CFO for a $100+ million furniture retailer in bankruptcy, Brent led critical turnaround initiatives overseeing a self-liquidation.
• In an interim controller role for a production media company, he swiftly rebuilt financial systems to inform board-level decisions.
• Brent advised a $60 million accent furniture importer and collaborated with management to address over-inventory and supply chain challenges, facilitating an annual cost reduction of $3.5 million.

Before joining Novo Advisors, Brent worked in the Disputes, Claims, and Investigations practices at Stout and The Claro Group, specializing in forensic accounting, corporate finance and restructuring, litigation damage support, and complex claims consulting.

Brent holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Augustana College. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Brent also chairs the Justice is Served Committee on the Legal Aid Chicago Ambassadors Board and is a member of the Turnaround Management Association.
