Wen has extensive experience in interim management positions. Recently, she served as interim CFO for a real estate company that experienced tight cash flow, had limited financial reporting and inadequate processes and procedures. Her focus on liquidity management enabled the company to fund short-term obligations and maintain a positive cash balance. Her executive management experience includes serving as corporate officer as Treasurer for a large retailer with $6 billion in sales and more than 300 stores. She led the Finance group with oversight for Financial Analysis & Planning, Treasury, Capital Planning and Pension. Her contributions and expertise in cash flow management and forecasting resulted in a significant improvement in working capital and the closure of approximately 100 unprofitable retail locations.

Wen’s expertise as a restructuring and turnaround professional includes liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, performance improvement, business plan review, budgeting and forecasting and the development of a strategic plan. She also assists private equity and portfolio companies with the identification and execution of synergies and EBITDA enhancing opportunities to increase enterprise value. She provides the necessary leadership and cadence for companies looking to grow through acquisitions, leading the financial standup in carve-out transactions. She is experienced in customer profitability and SKU rationalization, Day One Readiness, 100-day planning and post-merger integration execution.

Wen’s industry experience includes, but is not limited to, manufacturers, retailers, distributors, consumer goods, food, technology, real estate and healthcare. Her professional experience is also highly diverse. Prior to joining Novo Advisors, Wen was a Managing Director with Accordion and BDO Consulting, and she served in management at Alvarez & Marsal and Deloitte. In addition to advisory and corporate management, she has lending, workout and portfolio management experience.

Wen holds an MBA from DePaul University and BA in Finance from Michigan State University. She is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor (CIRA).

Wen’s restructuring journey in business began at just 15 when she was in charge of managing her family’s company. She quickly learned the value of cash flow when she paid all the bills upfront one summer, leaving no funds for food vendors — a pivotal experience that shaped her path toward restructuring.
